Catch Up With Kelly #3 - Diet and an Intolerance Test

I can’t start this blog without first acknowledging my absence on here for the past few weeks. Again, life has taken over and made blogging difficult for me. I have a lot going on much of which I hope will be positive, and I hope to update you more fully on it all over the coming months. For now, here is a little diet update that I think you will find interesting.

A few weeks ago, I was approached by LifeLab Testing to see if I would like to take one of their intolerance tests and review my experience here on the blog.

Bodega Cantina Leicester - Spring Menu Launch

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to go along to Bodega restaurant in Leicester to sample dishes from their latest menu launch. Bodega specialise in South American street food and is one of my favourite restaurants in Leicester so I was keen to see the menu changes.

So here we are again, another catch-up after another blogging break. This was a break I didn’t expect or want to take. Yet each time over the past six weeks that I have sat down and tried to write a post it all felt too negative and somewhat pointless.

Even now I don’t really want to put out the content I am about to write but equally this time last year blogging proved very positive for me and I would very much like to get back to that.

Frankly my life and my blog have felt negative for some time. Let me start with explaining why in relation to the blog and that will naturally move us on to life.

My Candida Diet Experience

As many of you know I am currently on a journey to be the best version of Kelly and a huge part of that journey is to try and better manage my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). I generally cope by managing my activity and getting early nights. I was recently asked if I feel I have improved or gotten worse over the past two years. My answer is that day to day I am better but that is because I haven’t worked for over a year, if I was working I think I would be worse now than I was back then.

Back in November I updated you on my life in general plus then on my diet, CFS and anxiety. (I will link them all below.) I have spent the last two months trying to find the courage to update you on my depression.

I have always been open on here about having depression I just haven’t shared much about it. That is because I find it the hardest thing to open up about and that is because it is the toughest and loneliest of my issues to deal with.

My Fear of Goals and Why This Year I am Setting Them, Blogging and Personal

Goals is a bit of a buzz word right now isn’t it. Honestly, I have never sat down before and thought up a list of goals for myself. I’ve made resolutions of course (and failed, of course.) I have even jotted down lists of things I want to do or achieve (sounds like goals, right?) Yet I had such little devotion to them that I always wrote them in pencil at the back of a notebook, so no one would find them, and I wouldn’t be accountable so then of course I never achieved any of them!

My First Year of Blogging: The Highs, Lows, Page Views and a Fresh Start

Today my blog is one year old. I still often can’t quite believe I’m a blogger at all never mind that I’ve been doing this for a year now. I still feel very much a newbie, this year has passed so quickly. Yet 2017 has been an amazing year in many ways and they are all thanks to this blog.
